What do I want?

It's time to sit down and think about my life and what I want to do with it. I think about it all the time, but it seems that I never get to the point where I define my vision. I need some clarity, and I need to do this on my own.
I've been writing "what do I want?" in my planner for the last three weeks :)
I also need an iced mocha. I made one by myself about a week ago... and it only got me all wired up. It didn't taste as good.
And I met Mr. Belding (Denis Haskins) from Save by the Bell!!! Once in a lifetime thing.

On a different note, when a friend calls me for no reason... I feel blessed, and makes me smile BIG, and I feel so loved.

Tomorrow isn't promised!

Buh-bye Curls!

Curls

I gave "Curls" to a friend of mine this week. It's the first piece of my work that finds a home away from mommy.
One day... I'll be selling my work. I hope I can get to see that day!!!

"B" time

This week was crazier than I expected. I've been running from class to class, from class to work, from work to class, and I've had little time to see my friends. My schedule looks scarry... but still, I'm enjoying every little moment of this life.
I have great expectations.
And well, this picture just reminded me that I have to have some "B" time every now and then (plus I love the ocean and I find this type of shoes really comfortable).

Hey, on a different note. I need to work on my Iced-Mocha-Making skills. I made one for myself this morning and it wasn't very good. It woke me up, though. I think I used too much coffee.

Life happens

I'm back in school!
So far I love all my classes, I'll have to read a lot but I'll make it. One of my goals is to have a 4.0 this semester. I'm really excited for all that's happening. This semester is going to be busy, really busy. But I'm glad to be back.

And... my friend brought me Costa Rican coffee!!! Bravo!!!
This will be an amazing year.

A lesson about life, friends and coffee.

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar, and the coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was. The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous "yes." The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed. "Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life, the golf balls are the important things-your God, family, your children, your health, your friends, and your favorite passions-things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, and your car. The sand is everything else-the small stuff. "If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand." One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, There's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

Java 'n Paint

I finally got to meet Kelly Moore, unfortunately he's moving to Santa Fe and I didn't get to know him. BUT, his legacy to me was a whole lot of art supplies and a HUGE desire to experience with new things in painting.
I've never used oil paints before for many different reasons, one of them is that in E.S. I wouldn't even dream of painting with such materials because of their cost. So, what I've used so far is just watercolor, gouach, ink, pastels, and all that together (love mixed-media madness from time to time). I'm trying to get into ARTS 3103 (Painting I). I checked today and the class is full, so now I'm trying to get an override. I really want to get into that class... Kelly said not to, because they would teach me how to paint. I have my style and I'd like to keep it mine, but I need to learn how to use the materials :)

On a different note, Happy 2005.
I wish you love and happiness. I wish you wisdom to understand that we don't need to understand everything. And I pray for relief and peace, as bad things happens all around the planet and many people suffer. There is so much pain... that no explanation or words will never ease the suffering. God, give them peace and new strenght so they can smile once again.
