Am I a "zanahoria"?

... cuz right now I feel more like a sandwich!!!

Let me explain:
The term "zanahoria" (carrot in Spanish) is used to describe college students that are laid back, good people, and study hard... in short... they know what they're doing!
So I think I'm a zanahoria... but right now, I'm so busy, trying to deal with so many things at the same time. I have to register for classes, I have scholarship and award applications due soon, I have to work and to study a lot, and well... the list goes on...
I better do something.

I've been humming "Stay with You" (John Legend) for the past couple of days. It's a beautiful song :) and I can't get it out of my head... I'm not really trying to.
This week has been good! I've been working, no classes... I wish I was in El Salvador so I could be doing Semana Santa stuff... like... going to la playa and hanging out with mi gente and eating torrejas (hmmm...!). But that's not possible right now, that's life.

So life has been good (even here in NWA!) I had a Barnes & Noble moment Monday night... it turned into 15 Barnes & Noble bucks... I got an art book and some cards with latin american paintings... they were on sale... I couldn't help but get them!!! Then I got a bookcrossing book... "Van Gogh's Bad Cafe" awesome :)

I have NO hair!!!

I cut my beautiful, long, expresso-dark, cocoa-smelling hair on Saturday! I donated it to Locks of Love but I miss it very much. It's short... I haven't had it like this in sooooo long... I feel naked!
I'm glad I did it, because some little girls will have a beautiful, dark, shiny wig :)
Spring Break is nice... I'm working, but no classes... just what I needed ;)
I have a long to-do list, though! And I watched Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights yesterday. It was good... I wished I could move like THAT!

Journal

I started a journal on my bday. It's pretty cool cuz it's half sketchbook... I can't help it! I have to draw or put pictures on it or paint on it! That's my nature :)
I'm already making progress with my vision... how neat is that?!

About men and flat tires

If there is something that I just cannot do is change a flat tire.

Last Friday I got a ride to my car ('cause I have to park on the other side of the world 'cause parking and transit at the U of A stink!), and when we got to Berthito (that's my blue Ford Taurus '88) my friend said "B, you got a flat tire" I couldn't see so I said "no, I don't" and then I saw Berthito and I said "Oh man! I do!"
THANK GOD FOR MY FRIEND!
He changed the tire for me... and I've never felt so USELESS before... Seriously... I couldn't even pass the tools 'cause I don't know what they're called! I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT THEY'RE CALLED IN SPANISH!!!

Berthito now has new tires... It needed new tires since I got him in Summer 2003. Berthito's tires were so worn out that it would slip in wet leaves!!! So I ended up getting new tires as a birthday present from my mom and my sis. YES... I'll be 20 on March 10th!!! WOO HOO!!!

Also, I'm starting a journal/sketchbook. Which I've been wanting to do for a while now. I'll make notes about life and funny episodes of it. Like how that unidentified dude hugged me on Friday! That was hilarious...
I was standing in front of the food court waiting for a friend with two other friends when this tall, African-American guy comes at me and gives me a flyer about some party. I took the flyer and said thanks... well, he was so tall that I didn't look at his face right away (I'm 5'2" so that was too much work for me!), until he HUGGED ME! he said "how've you been doing?" I said "good" while thinking "where do I know him from?".
The only reason I didn't do anything is because I know many people on campus... and sometimes I forget people's names or faces... so I thought I knew the guy... but then he walked away and I looked at him to see if I could recognize him, and that's when I realized I didn't know the guy!!! I said to my friends "I have no clue who that is! I do not know him!" and they started laughing... I was laughing with them, 'cause I thought it was hilarious... I hope that doesn't happen again, though!

That's it for now, so for all you dreamers out there... keep dreaming... dream BIG! And please learn how to change a tire and make sure to know everybody that hugs you.

Busiest times

Back in the day when I was a freshman in college... WAIT! That was last year!!!
What I really wanted to say was: Back in the day when afternoons seemed to last for years, and years seemed to last eternities... (yes... I'm talking about childhood, that was nice) time was different. I remember that Christmas seemed to never come around, and the three months of vacation seemed to go by so slow. Now, time runs like water thru my fingers... 24 hours would be enough if I didn't require any sleep...
It's been a busy week... well, a busy semester... it has actually been a busy year.
And I'm glad.
